Getting popular.

The Facebook page for the Morris J type van is getting popular, I'm told its popularity has increased by 313 % since last week with an additional 938 people visiting the site.
Talking about popular, I'm told the Beatles were a cult group, I thought they were a type of German car, still we all make errors.
I was sent the following scan, with the question "is that a J type in the background?"
I don't know from such a bad picture, if anyone finds a copy around their fish and chips do let me know if it is indeed a J Van.
A nice early J van has been immortalised. Its a very good model I'm just a bit worried by the write up.
LYM is the 2nd oldest van in the UK and was registered in early 1950.

Two new J type vans.

Now to all web users this maybe old news but a Facebook page was set up by three J friends.
Myself, Chris Barnes and Sam Diamond. The page is called "save the Morris J van" to spread the word to the Billion Facebook users around the world, all about our cute J vans.
It recently made contact with a Nz owner who is customising a J van body shell, all the other parts from the van did go to a good home and not just binned, I'm happy to say.
The "page"also made contact with the owner of the van in Norway and many restoration pictures were shared. I'm pleased to announce the "Facebook page" has had another result. Two vans in Oz, unknown to exist till now have been found and contact is being made as we speak to purchase these for preservation.

So if you or somebody you know has a Facebook page, become friends with "save the morris J van" and have up to the minute latest J type news every day.

Some more period pictures.

Some more period pictures, from the e-mails I get these seem to be well like.
Speaking about e-mails, I seem to be having problems, 80% of them end up in the spam folder.
Local van driver of the year competition.
It would be nice to have a colour picture of this one. From the shine on the paint work this is its first day of service.

Coach built J type Laundry van.

One of the best if not THE best, stylish coach built J type bodies I've seen.
Made by Griffiths & co in North Wales for a local laundry firm. Just needs some stunning sign writing to set it all off perfectly.
Talking about stunning, have a look at Charlie's progress on his Left hand drive Canadian van.
The 5 year project is nearly at a point to reunite the body with the chassis, check out his blog, the link is here. http://www.victoriajvan.blogspot.co.uk
