Funny old J type world.

It's a funny old J type world, for small group of vehicles we have so many "different" type of owners. We have a couple of wheeler dealers, a few van customiser's, a couple of true enthusiasts but who have turned "strange" and the motley rest of us.
Business people who buy vans and turn them into ice cream and fish and chip vehicles while existing ice cream vans are for sale and there seem to be no takers.
A rough ice cream van moved from Scotland to be a static van outside a chip shop but it would appear that it has been re-sold and has gone back to Scotland to be out side a restaurant.
Now the pictures below are of a well known J type in New Zealand, why has this van not been saved?
Located in Golden Bay, its not hard to find, what is wrong with it? Come on save this van. If its all about money buy it and export it to the UK and live for a few years off the profit....

Nice Fiat steering wheel and instruments.

Even the grill chrome is good.
Below is another van having a repaint, its coming along well.
The owner request his details are kept private.
From one of my recent postings, nobody it would seem is interested in the GPO stamped tyre. Also having only had two replies which both agree the chassis is from a Morris Y type van.
Two more links have been added to this site which you might find interesting. They are the Car and Classic web site for vehicle sales and the Old Classic van forum site, do take a look.

I met up with P.W. last weekend and he informed me that his J type TSL 577  has had some work done to the engine and a new clutch fitted. Shortly after the re-build the fan belt parted company.
The van has been invited to take part in the South Bank celebration of the Festival of Britain 60th Anniversary over the August weekend of the 13/14 TH. Look out for the van if your in London that weekend.
